THE PRESIDENT'S CORNER
To Mill Glen Swim & Tennis Club Membership:
Swim season is upon us, and we are excited about another season when we shake off the winter cobwebs and join each other at "the pool".
The Club facility is in great shape. Our pool company, American Pool Service, has been working nearly around the clock to be ready for opening day. As is always the case following winter, it takes a week or so for the water (saline and chlorine levels) to stabilize; so, please bear with us. APS is addressing a few remaining issues, and is confident we will be good to go come opening day. Please take a second to say hello and introduce yourselves to our new Head Lifeguard, Nathan, and our other guards.
Swim/Dive Teams have finished their first week of practice. We have one of the largest registrations this year, and all accounts indicate that this will be a great year for the Mill Glen Marlins. We have 2 home meets for Swim, and 2 for Dive. The pool typically closes on meet days at 4:00 p.m. Additionally, we may have a few limited afternoon practices the first week of business to accommodate swimmers who have not yet been released from school for the summer. Please keep an eye out for email notices with the details. The Marlins thank you in advance for your support and cooperation.
Our Memorial Day Party is Sunday, May 24, beginning at 1:00 p.m.. J. Alexander's will be catering, so, please get your checks for lunch to Christy Jones as soon as possible so J. Alexander's can plan accordingly. There will be activities for the younger Millglenanites, music and all sorts of carrying-on, so please join us if you are in town. RSVP ASAP with Christy Jones: social@millglen.org
Don't forget to sign up for the "MGS&T Memorial Day Tennis Round Robin Tournament". Jason and David guarantee there will be no rain, and there will be prizes for the top survivors. (Contact Jason Ganim to reserve your 1:00, 2:00 or 3:00 flight - tennis@millglen.org)
Your Board is looking forward to a great summer at Mill Glen. Please let us know of any suggestions or concerns. That is why we are here.
See you at the pool!
John
