2MILL GLEN SWIM & TENNIS CLUB NEWSLETTER

THE PRESIDENT'S CORNER

Summer is fast approaching, and we are looking forward to another Mill Glen swim season.  Opening day is May 21 at 4:00 PM.  American Pool Service is our pool company again this year.  APS has de-winterized and cleaned the pool, and it should be in great shape by opening day.  Please take the opportunity to introduce yourselves to our new lifeguards when you visit the pool.  Experience has shown that order and safety are better maintained when the guards and the adult Members communicate on some level.  Thanks to Stacey and Scott, our Pool Committee, for their efforts and for working with APS to ensure a smooth transition into the season.

Swim/Dive Teams have finished their first week of practice.  Please watch for announcements about swim meet schedules, particularly home meets and early pool closings on those days, and please come out to cheer on the Mill Glen Marlins.

The Club facility is in great shape.  Special thanks to all who joined us for Work Day on Saturday, May 8, and especially Ron and Richard for coordinating all the various fix-it/clean-it/paint-it/throw-it-out projects.  We are fortunate to have so many Club Members who care about Mill Glen and are willing to share their talents and hard work.

Christy and Kim, our Social Committee, have planned some fun events.  You should have already received their announcement of the May 29 concert and May 30 Memorial Day Party.  Both events promise to be great opportunities to get reacquainted with your Mill Glen neighbors.  Please watch for announcements from Beth and Jason regarding Round Robin tournaments and other tennis events.  As many of you know, the tennis courts get a tremendous amount of use which, coupled with year-round exposure to the elements, results in significant wear and tear.  Our Tennis Committee has been diligent in attending to the necessary repairs, and the courts should be in good shape.  If you have been to the courts lately, you will have noticed the extension that has been built onto the deck, as well as improvements to the gazebo.  We have received many compliments already from Members and visitors alike.  Thanks to Laura for organizing those improvements.

Please remember that the Mill Glen Clubhouse is available to Members for parties, wedding/baby showers, receptions etc. Lisa has gone above and beyond the call of duty to keep our rentals organized and to keep the Clubhouse in good condition.  Please see the Club website for rental rates, and contact Lisa to schedule your next event here at Mill Glen.

We are looking forward to another great summer at Mill Glen.  Please let us know of any suggestions or concerns.  That is why we are here.

 See you at the pool!

Thanks,

John Rezac
