  17th ANNUAL
NCAA – MARCH MADNESS 2011 AUCTION

WHO:
You ..YES YOU ..are invited to participate in this year’s NCAA March Madness Auction. Come and join your neighbors and participate in the most enjoyable NCAA tournament competition around

This Mill Glen competition has been a tradition since 1994!

You
can match your skills against the legendary Jeff Gillett, and the renowned Derek Kuipers as they demonstrate their magic and mastery of Bracketology.

You
may find yourself perplexed as you hear the MC call the names of a Mike Davis bid, or mystified by Jim Byrne spending $4.50 in the third round on Cornell and Hofstra.  And you might find yourself suppressing a chuckle as Muehring assembles his schools based on their SAT requirements.

WHAT:
Silent auction on the 64 teams in the NCAA tournament.

WHEN and WHERE:
Tuesday, March 15th at the Clubhouse. Start time is 8:00pm.

HOW to RSVP:
Email Mike Burns at burns5375@bellsouth.net

We have 24 open spots, so reply early…you don’t want to be “on the bubble”.

ADDITIONAL DETAILS:
A – Cost will be $15.00 per entry.  One entry per person.

B – Must select 8 teams, and spread $15.00 in bidding over those 8 teams.

Example Ballot:
Duke             $6.38
Indiana          $3.78
Cornell          $1.98
USC              $1.63
Xavier           $0.87
Xavier           $0.18
Tennessee   $0.17
Wisconsin     $0.01
TOTAL        $15.00

With 24 participants in the auction, each team will be awarded to the highest 3 bidders.  If the last bid is a tie, neither bidder is awarded the team in that round.

C – Participants will bring their own favorite beverage to the auction.

D – Winner will be determined based on cumulative wins by all their teams.

E – Auction will continue until each participant has a full slate of 8 teams.

F – Silent Auctions mean “no pre-bidding collaboration” otherwise known as the Horner rule.

G – Recommended strategies: do not bid amounts such as $1.00, or $2.50.  Instead bid $1.06 or $2.47.  This will reduce the possibility of tie bids.
